Psalms, chapter 108

Jesus can give you victory.Trust in Him who has the power to forgive you and save you.

Our Bible reading for today is from Psalms 108, the verse of reference in  is:

“Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. (Psalms 108:12, 13 NIV).

Challenge:

Trusting the unlimited power of God

Historical Commentary.- Psalm 108 presents the appropriate order that a pray to God should follow: 1) Glorify God; 2) request God’s freedom from sin, 3) Request that crisis may over. In addition, the psalm highlights a particular truth: God’s mercy is always unchanging and His love surpasses our knowledge. Therefore, we can face the crisis with strong hearts, with voice and public praise and conviction that God always grant us victory.

Human power is limited.-  The psalmist declares that, even as good as our intentions may be, human beings are limited by time, space, strength and power. An example of human endeavor and its limitation lies in the experience of King Darius, who despite being king of the mighty Medo Persian Empire he failed to execute his desire to save Daniel from the lions den: (When the king heard the Case, it weighed him greatly, to deliver Daniel: and until sunset worked to free him..)

Victories with God – Ask God to give you daily victories over Satan and his temptations. “The People of God must move wisely. They should not be satisfied until every known sin is confessed. Then, it is your privilege and duty to believe that Jesus accepts your plea. They should not wait for other road to open in the darkness and gain the victory for them to enjoy. Such joy will last only until the meeting is over. We serve God by principle and not by feeling. Every morning and evening Obtain victory for you in your own family. Let your day job not prevent this. Take time to pray, and while you pray, believe that God hears you. Have faith in your prayers. 468 CPI

Prayer

God of love and victory. We ask forgiveness because we often rely on men and women to solve our problems. I pray every day that we can cling to your promises and receive daily victories because we trust you. In the name of Jesus, amen
